HECKMAN, Helen L. age 75 of Brookville, formerly of Vandalia passed away Friday May 18, 2012 at the Brookhaven Care Center. She was born August 12, 1936 in Dayton, daughter of the late Harry & Olivia (Merkle) Wagner. Helen was a longtime member of St Christopher Catholic Church where she was very active with the Bereavement Ministry and was a member of the St Chris Seniors group. She was a member of the Vandalia Senior Citizens and was a retired employee of Tech Development. Helen was preceded in death by 2 sisters Mary & Leona and one brother Paul. She is survived by her husband of 55 years Robert; her children Mark (Maria) Heckman of MD, Robert (Catherine) Heckman of Cleveland, Linda (Bradley) Limbert of Brookville, Debra (Kenneth) Pfahl of IN, Karen (Jon) DeDario of MI; one brother Richard (Mary Lou Kramer) Wagner of Beavercreek; one sister Celeste (Joseph) Beach of Beavercreek; 12 grandchildren Maria, Katherine, Olivia, Kelsey, Cory, Megan, Adam, Ben, Bailee, Kyle, Justin, Elizabeth; 4 great-grandchildren Christian, Wyett, Joselyn, Emery and a host of other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am Tuesday May 22 at St Christopher Catholic Church 401 E. National Rd, Vandalia with Fr. Francis Keferl officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia on Monday evening from 5-8pm. If so desired, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc. or the St. Chris Bereavement Ministry in Helen’s memory.
