DIXON, Charlene D. age 82 of Dayton, passed away Wednesday March 6, 2013 at her residence following an illness. She was born October 25, 1930 in Dayton daughter of the late Elsworth & Auldene (Parker) Lehman. Charlene was a retired employee of Heider Corp., was a charter member of Triumphant Cross Lutheran Church and was a member of St Paul Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Order of the Amaranth, the John Durst Lodge #716 Ladies Auxiliary and the Reed Commandry #6 Ladies Auxiliary. Preceded in death by one sister Linda Carroll, Charlene is survived by her husband of 63 years Robert “Bob” Dixon; 2 sons Robert M. (Sharon) Dixon of Vandalia, Paul W. (Connie) Dixon of Lewisburg; 2 daughters Deborah K. (Bill) Gaddy of AR, Charlene L. (Gary) Strader of West Jefferson; one sister Shirley (Gail) Lee of GA; 9 grandchildren Matthew, James, Shiloh, Benjamin, Elizabeth, Christina, Joshua, Amber, Robin; numerous great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday March 8 at 10:00am at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia with Pastor Kurt Lammi officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6-8pm. If so desired, contributions may be made to the St Paul Lutheran Church Memorial Fund in Charlene’s memory.
