DIANE ELAINE BIRCHFIELD

2/27/56 – 3/11/21

Diane was an extraordinary woman who was all about her family.  She excelled at being a wife and mother, but she cherished her title as “Grandma.”  Diane enjoyed planting flowers, camping, reading, music, and had a love for the beach so strong, her heart would swell every time she saw a palm tree.  She treasured celebrating holidays and displayed her interior decorating skills throughout her home, especially her bathroom.  Diane was close to retirement with her career as a Dietitian with Premier Health (MVH & UVMC) and Crandall Corporate.  Those who knew Diane will greatly miss her kindness, sense of humor, beautiful smile and SO much more.

Diane is survived by her remarkable children, Loryn (Drew) Burneka, Grant & Jeffrey Birchfield; wonderful grandchildren, Grayson Birchfield and Victoria Burneka; loving mother, Evelyn (Cliff) Kinnunen; brothers, Scott (Suzanne) Ashbaugh, Ross (Shannon) Ashbaugh, John (Beth) Ashbaugh, as well as her second family, the Wintrows (Jeff, Teri, Alicia & Stacy).

Diane is now reunited with her exceptional husband of 42 years, Marc; her loving father, Homer “Guy” Ashbaugh; in-laws, Bob & Lora Birchfield, as well as several other relatives.

A Celebration of Diane’s life will be held Saturday, March 27, 2021 from 1-5 pm at Celebrations II Banquet Center, 7615 Poe, Avenue, Dayton, Ohio.
