Mary L. Blankenship
Age 80, of Vandalia, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2020, at Kettering Medical Center. Mary was born July 21, 1940 in Dayton to the late Desra & Evelyn (Grant) Gillott. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Robert Blankenship, who passed in 2019; and by two brothers, Gary & John Gillott.
Mary retired from General Motors, enjoyed playing Euchre, crafting and Nascar and she was a strong OSU football fan. For may years Mary & her husband raced harness racing horses.
Mary is survived by three children, Brenda Alsept & her husband, Robert, Debra Harrison & her husband, Wally and Jeff Hollifield; three siblings, Nyle Gillott, Veda Manson & her husband, Richard and Sharma Witt & her husband, Tom; six grandchildren, LaVonna, Jessica (Shawn), Laina (Mike), Shanna (Scott), Matthew and Trevor (Kayla); five grandchildren, Zack, Dylan, Mahlina, Levi and Chris; and by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family & many good friends.
Funeral services for Mary will be private. Pastor James Render will officiate. She will be buried next to her husband at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
Morton & Whetstone funeral home (Vandalia) is in charge of arrangements.
