Ronald D. Hawk
Age 79, of Vandalia, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2022, at The Hospice of Dayton. He was born September 11, 1943 in Monroe County, Tennessee to the late Meigs & Leslie (Tate) Hawk. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by four sisters, Ruba Hawk, Kate Kelley, Gladys Brown & Martha Patterson; and by four brothers, Hoyet Hawk, Arvil Hawk, Meigs Hawk, Jr. & Cecil Hawk.
Ron was a kind and gentle man who loved his Lord and adored his children. He will be so missed by so many. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, having served in Vietnam and retired from General Motors with 25 years of service in 1995.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of the past 49 years, Patti Hawk; two sons, James Hawk and his wife, Nicole, and Robert Thompson; three grandchildren, Leise Hawk, Tyler Thompson & his wife, Ivy, and Courtney Thompson. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at The Hospice of Dayton, and especially to his Hospice nurse, Kimberly Thompson, who helped Ron so much in his journey.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, November 18, at Poplar Hill Cemetery, Vandalia. Immediately following the graveside service, a Celebration of Life will be held at the American Legion Post #688, 8220 N. Dixie Dr., Dayton, Ohio 45414 in Ron's honor.
In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made in memory of Ron to The Hospice of Dayton.
