Ada Barger

Barger, Ada B., age 98, formerly of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at Sid Peterson Memorial Hospital in Kerrville, TX. Born in Logan County, Ohio May 26, 1909, she was the daughter of Millard and Maude (Funk) Elliot. She had been a resident of Kerrville for the past year, after being a resident of Florida since 1972. Ada retired after 24 years from Sears & Roebuck and in her retirement, Mrs. Barger became very involved in the stock market. Mrs. Barger celebrated 70 years of marriage to her husband, Carl Barger, who predeceased her in 2004. She was also predeceased by her parents, her brothers, Carl and Claude Elliot and a sister, Medaiah Edgar. Survivors include two sons, Charles of Kerrville and Ralph of Milford, New Hampshire; two daughters, Carol Lampman of Port Orange, Florida and Bonnie McCartney of Baker, Louisianna; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, August 14 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 South Dixie Dr, Vandalia, Ohio. Internment will follow in the family lot in Forest Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:00 pm until time of service.
