(Phil 3:7, 8) Al, 84, of Vandalia, OH died Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was the loving husband for 61 years of Rita (who preceded him in death September 2008) and is survived by his 8 children Dennis (Janice), Jean Sichman (Robert), Linda, Diane Warden (Gary), Marvin (Tina), Thomas (Cheryl), Gregory (Cassandra) and Cynthia Fischer (John), 25 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Al served as a navigator in the US Army Air Corp during WWII. He worked 40+ years as a machinist/foreman in the Dayton area. Al was a long time member of St. Christopher Church and was especially involved with the Bereavement Committee, Perpetual Adoration and the annual festival. His children will most remember their Dad for his endearing love and dedication to their Mother and for the unconditional love he gave to each of them. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at St. Christopher Catholic Church, Vandalia with Fr. Francis Keferl officiating. The family will receive friends at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia on Monday evening from 4-8 pm. The family requests donations to Christian Foundation for Children and Aging- General Fund, One Elmwood Ave., Kansas City, KS 66103 in Als memory.
