Alvina J. Dane

DANE, Alvina J., age 93 of Butler Twp., passed away Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Cypress Pointe Health Center. She was born August 1, 1923, daughter of the late Ben & Josephine Maker. Alvina was a graduate of Roosevelt High School. She loved her family and loved her life in the country. She was very proud of her canning skills, especially canning and making stuffed peppers out of the peppers her husband grew in his garden. Preceded in death by her husband, James Dane; daughter, Melanie Dane, 2 sisters, Mary Trimmer, Nellie Ruetschle, 1 brother, Walter Maker and numerous other relatives, Alvina is survived by her son Daniel Dane & wife, Toni of Centerville; granddaughters, Lydia Brashear (Jim) and Sarah Baker (Jim), all of Mason; great-granddaughters, Holly & Rose Brashear and Madeline Baker, also of Mason and she is also survived by her loving sister, Ann Mooney, along with several loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, December 15 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Pastor Libby Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 pm until time of service.
