Arbutus O Kingery

KINGERY, Arbutus O., age 70 of Vandalia, passed away unexpectedly Saturday February 28, 2009 at her residence. She was born December 23, 1938 in Perry Co, KY, daughter of the late William & Lillie (New) Spurlock. She was a retired employee of Inland Div. of GM and a member of the Living Word Church. Arbutus was preceded in death by her son Donald Steve ODiam in 2006; one brother Lloyd Spurlock and one sister Betty Jo Hammon. She is survived by 3 sisters, Mildred Marie Kilby of Dayton, Elizabeth Baine and Loretta Scott both of Vandalia and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday March 4 at 10:00am at the Living Word Church 926 E. National Rd. Vandalia. Burial will follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia on Tuesday evening from 5 to 8pm. If so desired, contributions may be made to the Living Word Church Memorial Fund in memory of Arbutus.
