ADAMS, Arthur Q. age 95 of Vandalia, passed away Monday August 31, 2015 at Stonespring of Vandalia. He was born November 6, 1919 in Covington, OH, son of the late Arthur & Ruth (Ervin) Adams. Arthur grew up living and working on the family farm in Covington. He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran and was a retired employee of NCR with over 25 years of service. Arthur was active in various Veterans clubs in the Dayton area including the 40-8 Veterans club; American Legion Post #668 where he was Past Commander; the Piqua VFW Post #4874 and Amvets Post #99. He was also the former director and an active member of the U.S.O. at the Dayton International Airport for many years. Arthur was preceded in death by his wife Bessie L. Adams; daughter-in-law Jeanette Adams; one sister and one brother. He is survived by 3 sons Sonny & wife Donna Adams of Vandalia, Mike Adams of Miamisburg, and Paul & wife Carol Adams of Vandalia; 4 sisters Virginia Moyer, Eileen Hollis, Gladys Klotz, and Joan Denman; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Graveside services for family and friends will be held Wednesday September 2 at 1:30pm at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia on Wednesday from 12:00 to1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the U.S.O. in Arthur's memory.
