Arthur Hicks

HICKS, Arthur L. Jr., age 78 of Huber Heights passed away unexpectedly Friday, May 11, 2007 as the result of an auto accident. He was born June 13, 1928 in Sciotoville, OH, son of the late Arthur Sr. & Arizona Hicks. He was a retired employee of General Motors and was a US Army Veteran of WW II. Arthur was a member of the Vandalia Masonic Lodge #742 F&AM, the Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton and the Antioch Shrine. He was Past Commander and a member of the American Legion Post #200; Voiture, Local #34 of the 40/8, a member of the Huber Heights AmVets and was active with various veteran organizations. Arthur is survived by his 2 daughters, Linda Stickely of Hebron, KY and Sandra & huband, Darryl Sowell of Cheraw, SC; 1 son, Anthony Tony L. Hicks of Huber Heights; 1 sister, Anna Grace and husband Joe Hall; 1 brother, Carl Hicks; 3 half-brothers, Tom, Gene and Jay Hicks; 6 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, May 16, at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Rev. Ronald Hajarian officiating. Burial to follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5:00 " 8:30 pm with Masonic Services held at 8:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Dayton Veterans Administration Center or to the charity of your choice in Arthurs memory.
