Barbara Jean Barnhart

Age 82 of West Alexandria, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Grandview Hospital. She was born April 19, 1934 in Sciotoville, Ohio, daughter of the late Purdy A. & Sylvia (Gifford) Jennings.

Barbara was a member of the First Nazarene Church of Dayton, the Northridge Nazarene Church, and most recently the Eaton Church of the Nazarene. She was a faithful servant of the Lord in all of her church homes.

Preceded in death by 2 brothers, Donald & Larry Jennings, Barbara is survived by her husband of 64 years, Paul Ray Barnhart; 5 children, Rodney (Debbie) Barnhart, Gregory (Lisa) Barnhart, Geoffrey (Tara) Barnhart, Roxie (Rick) Fiste, and Veronica Barnhart; 11 grandchildren, Molly (Jake) Bobo, Kyle & Cary Barnhart, Shane & Monica Barnhart, Garren, Gracen, Tacie, Griffin, & Gannon Barnhart and Brittney Fiste; 1 great-grandchild, Harper; 1 brother, Gordon “Jack” (Linda) Jennings; 1 sister, Melody Hood; sister-in-law, Judy Jennings, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Monday, June 6 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Pastor Rick Fiste officiating. Interment will follow at Preble Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 3-5 pm.
