Barbara Lee Johnston

JOHNSTON, Barbara Lee, age 80 of Bethel Township, Miami County passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at the Springmeade Health Center. She was born in Dayton, OH, daughter of the late Otto & Vera (Olt) Wegner. Barb was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond in 2009, and a loving sister, Nancy Schumacher. Barb is survived by a loving daughter, Glenda Tron and son-in-law, Gordon; grandchildren, Jeffrey Tron (Kyra) and Jennifer Beard (Tyler) of Casstown; great-granddaughter, Allie Tron; 2 sisters, and numerous relatives and friends.

She was a life member of the VFW Post #9582 Ladies Auxiliary, a member of the Vandalia Butler Historical Society, the American Legion Post #668 Ladies Auxiliary, and was a faithful attendee of the Crossroads Christian Fellowship Church in Tipp City. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm, Thursday, July 21 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Interment will follow at Casstown Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:00 am until time of service. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County in Barb’s memory. The family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff of Springmeade and to Hospice of Miami County for the wonderful care they provided to Barbara.
