Barbara (Wojcik) Oliver age 79, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Friends Care Center in Yellow Springs, OH. She was born September 12, 1938 in Wheeling, WV to the late Henry and Helen (Gostyla) Wojcik.
Barbara is survived by her brother Chester and sister-in-law Barva Wojcik of Charleston, sister-in-law Martha Wojcik of Wheeling Island, sister-in-law Jean McGrath of Wheeling, and daughter Donna Hale of Dayton, Ohio. Other surviving family members include six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and close friends. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by brother Fred Wojcik, daughter Tammy Burleigh, son George Oliver, granddaughter Lisa Larrick, and former spouse George Oliver.
As a military wife, Barbara traveled to Italy, Germany, Japan, and was stationed in the United States at several different bases before finally settling in Dayton, Ohio to raise her family. She was a talented artist with a passion for painting, sculpture, macramé, and owned a small ceramic business. After retiring from her job at the Dayton International Airport, Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Honoring Barbara’s wishes, there will be no memorial service and her remains will be cremated. Anyone wishing to honor her life should make a donation to Vitas Hospice or Friends Care Center in Yellow Springs, Ohio.
