Barbara E. Rand

RAND, Barbara Elaine, 86, of Vandalia, departed this life for her eternal home with Jesus on Saturday, November 25, 2023. Elaine was born September 8, 1937 in Dayton, OH to Edgar and Alyce Pooler. She grew up in Old North Dayton attending Holy Rosary and Kiser High School as a member of the class of 1954. As a young woman she had the opportunity to not only model for Rikes Department store in the local paper but to sing on local television as well. While having several close friends, her best friend was her mother for whom she cared for until her passing at the age of 93. Her career was her family cherishing every member. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David L. Rand, her sister Pamela Nan Haines, brother-in-law Bill Haines, and nephews Billy Haines and Eric Pooler. She is survived by her children Greg (Kathy) Rand, George Rand, Geoff (Sarah) Rand and Gary (Roma) Taylor. Grandchildren Zach (Melissa), Josh, Alayna (Derek), Lucas, Dakota, Joey, Sofia, Beth (Dawn), Steven (Jennifer) and Tia (Justin). Great grandchildren Brandon, Audri (Mick), Austin (Daria), Kody (Chloe), Vanessa, Renn, Stetyn King, Garrett, Kayle, Emma, Lily and Aubrey. Great great grandchildren Liam and Brooks. Brothers Larry (Linda) Pooler, Rick (Brenda) Pooler and nieces and nephews Mark (Carol), Jerrod, Matt (Tracey), Kerri, Tony, Chris, Jackie, Jennifer and Jason and special friend Louise.
