Barry L. Faulk

September 23, 1949 -- October 1, 2023

Faulk, Barry L. Born to the late Elmer L and Shirley M (Leder) Faulk in Erlanger Kentucky. Beloved husband of Dianna L (Dugan) Faulk for 51 years. Dear brother of Sheree (John) Heis and brother in law of Denise (Al) Eder.  The best dog Dad to Daisy and Dixie. The greatest Uncle Buzz to Angela, Christopher (Rebekah), Jillian, Lori (Chris), Teresa (Tyler), Kailey McKena, Brooklynn, Christian, Cooper, Fiona, Colton, Cash, Ashley (Kyle), Alicia, Allison (Ryan), Alden, and Alexis.  Passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, October 1, 2023 at 74 years of age.

The family will be receiving friends from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 7, at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Kurt Lammi officiating. Interment with military honors will be at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made in memory of Barry to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 7700 Dog Leg Road, Dayton, OH 45414.

Barry grew up in Vandalia and was a proud graduate of Vandalia-Butler High School, class of 1967, where he co-oped and worked at a local dental lab and learned quickly.  Well accomplished in the trade, Barry retired as a Dental Technician and President of Artistic Dental Lab in Englewood.  In his younger years, he earned the rank of Eagle Scout and later proudly served his country in the U.S. Army achieving the rank of Spec. 5 during the Vietnam War.  Barry was also a long-time member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church on Dog Leg Road. Though Barry showed strong commitments to his professional career and service, his real loves were cars, animals and his family.

Barry enjoyed being hands on and had a special talent for building and fixing cars. In fact, Barry restored and re-built several classic 1969 Cameros.   Barry could repair cars others said couldn't be repaired and he welcomed the challenge it would bring.  He loved an opportunity to share his knowledge and also enjoyed collecting anything with wheels.

Barry met his wife when they were just teenagers and took many adventures together-often with their fur babies in tow.  Barry was an avid animal lover and he and his wife gave a loving home to many cats and dogs over the years and he could always be counted on to bring over a special treat to your house if he learned you had a fur baby there.  Those who knew him loved his big laugh and the way he lit up talking about cars, his nieces and nephews, or his sweet fur babies and he will be sorely missed.
