Bernard A. Judd

JUDD, Bernard A., age 88, of Vandalia, passed away Monday, November 1, 2010 at the Dublin Methodist Hospital, Dublin, OH. He was born December 12, 1921 in Tipp City, OH, son of the late Arthur and Florence Judd. Bernie served his country proudly as a member of the U.S. Army as a Corporal for the Battery A 477th Field Artillery Observation Battalion. He retired from WPAFB after 37 years of service. He started as a Photostat Operator and retired as Chief of Financial Services of the Aero Propulsion Laboratory. Bernie was preceded in death by his wife, Vernice Luella Jones in 1995. They met in junior high school and were married June 30, 1946, after his return from the war. He is survived by his 3 children, Judy (Gail) Miller, Linda Simmons, and Jeff (Darlene) Judd; 1 sister, Alice Mae Finch; 6 grandchildren, Kimberly (Dr. James) Carren, Brent (Wendy) Miller, Kevin (Amy) Simmons, T.J. (Amanda) Simmons, Jason (Christine) Judd, Jeremy (Cadence) Judd; 10 great-grandchildren, Shawn Carren, Allison & Abigail Miller, J.J. , Kaleigh and due in February the newest great-grandchild Simmons, Elijah, Anna, Evan & Isaac Judd; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, November 5 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:30 " 8:00 pm. Lions Club Service to be held at 8:00 pm.
