Bessie Adams

ADAMS, Bessie L. (Betty), age 81 of Vandalia, passed away suddenly Monday August 8, 2005 at Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born October 15, 1923 in Jackson, MS, daughter of the late Patrick & Lilia Ellison. She was a former employee of Lerner Dept Store and P.M.I. Betty was president of the Miami Valley U.S.O., past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post #668, past president of the 40 & 8 Ladies Auxiliary and past treasurer of the D.A.R.. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Betty is survived by her husband of 62 years Arthur Q. Adams; 3 sons and daughters-in-law Arthur Q (Sonny) Jr. & Donna Adams of Vandalia, Michael E & Jeanette Adams of Miamisburg, Paul A. & Carol Adams of Englewood; one sister Jewel Sewell of Georgia; 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Friday August 12 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia with Pastor Ralph Helm officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5 to 8pm.
