PERRY, Betty J., age 85 formerly of Vandalia, passed away Friday, January 4, 2019 at the Walnut Creek Nursing Center. She was born December 8, 1933 in Dayton, OH, daughter of the late Herman & (Maude) Burris Carper. Betty was a longtime member of the Vandalia Baptist Temple where she joined in 1961.

Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Russel Perry Sr.; 6 sisters, Georgia, Geneva, Thelma, Geraldine, Wanda & Margaret and 3 brothers, Royce, Arthur & James, Betty is survived by her children, Russell Perry Jr. “Chip”, Christine Tanner, Dawn Cole, & Roberta Rowland; grandchildren, Jessica Myers, Joshua Cole (Stephanie), Nathan Cole, Joseph R. Rowland and Steephan Perry (Luci) and great-grandchildren, Brandon, Courtney, Merrick & Elliott Myers, Dalton & Kaleb Perry and Tali Cole; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, January 11 at the Vandalia Baptist Temple, 724 Helke Rd., Vandalia with Rev. Rick Washburn officiating. Interment to follow at Royal Oak Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr, Vandalia on Thursday evening from 5-7 pm, and at the church on Friday from 10:00 am until time of service.
