Beverly Edwards

EDWARDS, Beverly A., age 68 of Harrison Twp., passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at her residence. She was born July 30, 1940 in Dayton, OH, daughter of the late Harold E. & Jeanette (Handley) Ireland. Beverly retired from State Farm Insurance where she worked in the Claims Office and the Special Investigations Unit. Formerly, she worked for the VA Medical Center and the FBI in Washington, D.C. Beverly was an active member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. Preceded in death by her son, Harold and 2 brothers, Richard & Gerald, Beverly is survived by her husband of 42 years, John; 2 sons, Mike & wife, Linda Edwards and Dennis & wife, Tracy Edwards; 1 daughter, Sherry Edwards & Mark George; 1 step-daughter, Glenda Lee Tool & Ralph Williams all of Dayton; 2 brothers, Jim & wife, Lynne Ireland of GA and Steven & wife, Jacquie Ireland of CA; 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces & nephews, cousins, her special friend, Debbie Pierce, and numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Monday, November 10, at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr.,Vandalia with Pastor David Snowdon officiating. Burial will follow at Willowview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 6 to 8pm.
