Buena Chinn

CHINN, Buena age 82 of Vandalia, passed away Friday August 26, 2011 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born October 15, 1928 in Sulphur Lick, KY daughter of the late Carl & Beatrice (Lane) Howard. Buena was a former Home Ec. teacher with the Vandalia Butler City Schools. She was a member of the Vandalia Lioness Club and the Concord United Methodist Church. Buena volunteered at the Vandalia Food Pantry, and she loved to play Bridge. She retired from playing tennis at the age of 80, a game that she dearly loved. She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd and 4 brothers. Mrs Chinn is survived by her children Gary (Ellen) Chinn of Kettering, Cindy (R.J.) Florkey of Ft. Collins, CO, Jan (Steve) Baughman of Vandalia; 10 grandchildren Heather (Wes) Lauer, Meaghan, Christopher, and Matthew Chinn, Jackie, Beth, and Kelly Oldiges, Kelly, Erin, and Andy Baughman; 2 great grandchildren Addison Chinn and Gavin Lauer and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 11:00am Monday August 29 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia. Burial will follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 4pm. If so desired, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Buenas memory.
