Carl V. Jones

Age 84, of Vandalia, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 5, 2018. He was born April 13, 1933 in Hamilton County, Ohio to the late Barney & Martha (Fields) Jones.

He is the owner of Carl’s Diesel Service and he retired from McCauley Aircraft as a Mechanical Engineer. His hobbies include collecting antique steam and gas traction engines and collecting antiques of all kinds.

Carl is survived by his wife of the past 13 years, Tamera D. (Smith) Jones; two daughters, Dianna Dufrene & Vickie Scott; three step-daughters, Angie Wendling, Donna Kayser & Janice Cook; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and by his extended family & many good friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday (2/9) at the Vandalia Baptist Temple, where Carl was a devoted member, 724 Helke Road, Vandalia, Ohio 45377. Pastor Rick Washburn will officiate. Interment will follow at Polk Grove Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made in memory of Carl to the Vandalia Baptist Temple. Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
