Carl T. Smith

SMITH, Carl T. age 94 of Vandalia, passed away Friday June 1, 2012 at Grandview Hospital. He was born March 30, 1918 in Dayton, son of the late John B. & Nettie Mae (Neidich) Smith. Carl was a retired employee of Daycoa Corp. and was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a member of VFW Post #9582 and American Legion #323 and was a member of Vandalia Lodge #742 F&AM. Carl was preceded in death by 2 brothers Walter & LeRoy and a granddaughter Andrea. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Dorothy; one son Carl W. Smith of Huber Heights; 2 daughters Linda (Dennis) Cate of Englewood, Carol (Neil) Boyce of Troy; 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Monday June 4 at 2:00pm at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia with Rev. Tom Weeks officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00pm until time of the service.
