PHILLIPS, CAROLINE J. (Cline) age 86 of Englewood, passed away Friday, May 23, 2008 at her residence at Grace Brethren Village. She was born April 29, 1922 in Darke Co., OH, daughter of the late Earl & Ella (Stooksberry) Cline. Caroline was retired from the Vandalia-Butler City School system after several years of service and was a member of the Polk Grove United Church of Christ. Preceded in death by her husband, David I. Phillips in 1996; her 6 brothers & sisters, Ora Cline, Elsie Murphy, Clarence Cline, Ralph Cline, Bill Cline & Louise Turner; Caroline is survived by her son, Jerry Phillips & wife, Alice of Englewood; her daughters, Joni Graham & husband, Edward of Englewood and Carla Lane & husband, Kenneth of Greenville; grandchildren, Tim Kuehl & wife, Susan, Kristin Gartrell & husband, Mike, Kela Plamper & husband, Eric, Cody Lane & wife, Bri, & Jerred, Kevin, & Edyn Graham; great-grandchildren, Emily, Anna, David & Jordan; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 28 at the Polk Grove United Church of Christ, 9190 Frederick Pike, with Rev. John Fowler officiating. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Teegarden Cemetery, Rt. 47, Ansonia, OH. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton or to the Polk Grove UCC Memorial Fund in Carolines memory. Arrangements by Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, Vandalia.
