Carolyn M. Thurman

THURMAN, Carolyn M. age 103 of Friendship Village, passed away Saturday September 27, 2014 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born June 17, 1911 in Dayton, daughter of the late William & Audrey (Elleman) Marsh. Carolyn was a member of the Vandalia United Methodist Church and the Barria Court. She enjoyed playing golf in the Ladies League at Cassel Hills Golf Course. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband Robert; one brother Winston William Marsh and a son-in-law Cliff Chaipel. She is survived by 2 daughters Jeralyn & husband Peter Svanda of Philadelphia, PA and Gail Chaipel of Ft. Myers Beach, FL; 5 grandchildren Gregg Svanda, Wendi (Charles) Chase, Jeff (Linda) Timmer, Scott (Cynthia) Timmer, Allison (Ken) O'Keefe; 6 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. A memorial service for family and friends will be held at a later date. If so desired, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in Carolyn's memory.
