Carroll L Snider

SNIDER, Carroll L. age 90 of Medway, formerly of Iowa, passed away Saturday June 20, 2009 at the Dayspring Health Care Center following an illness. He was born July 26, 1918 in Abingdon, IA, son of the late Perry J. and Waneta O. (DeGood) Snider. Carroll was a retired manager with Cadco Co., attended the Medway Christian Church, and was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran. He was a member of the VFW Post# 2271, a member of Clinton Lodge #15 F&AM, a life member of Elks Lodge #1192 all of Fairfield, IA and was a member of the Keosauqua Lions Club. Carroll was preceded in death by one brother. He is survived by his wife of 67 years Helen; one daughter Sherry Finch of Huber Heights and husband Robert Finch; 3 grandchildren Kristin & husband Tom Nelson, Jennifer & husband Chris Pierce, Mike & wife Jennifer Finch; 3 great-grandchildren Megan, Madelyn, and Meredith. Funeral services will be held Wednesday June 24 at 1:30pm at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia with Pastor Bryan Forbes officiating. Burial will follow at Medway Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12 noon until time of service. If so desired, contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice Care in Carrolls memory. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of Heartland Hospice for their loving care of Carroll during his illness.
