CLARK, Charles G. age 79 of Butler Twp., passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at Kindred Hosptial. He was born March 22, 1932 in Coal Grove, OH, son of the late Lewis Clark & Hazel (Mowery). Preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Dunn, and sister, Phyllis Hay , Charles is survived by his wife of 55 years, Julia (Shively) Clark; children, Karen Herron, Alex Clark, Charles Clark & Amber Ponchillia (Keith); grandchildren, Jesse, Justin, David & Audrey; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Donna Fryman (Bill); and a host of other relatives and friends. Charles was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He worked for several Dayton area police agencies, and retired as Chief of Police from Clayton, OH. He later retired as the Chief of Security for Montgomery County JVS. He also worked at Globe & Tool Engineering and Mechaneer. He was a devoted member of the Blue Knights, Chapter III for 35 years. He was a Founding member of the Lypo Club and a member of the F.O.P. Lodge #104. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, April 13 at the Woodland Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, 118 Woodland Ave., Dayton with Chaplain John Wood officiating. Entombment to follow. The family will receive friends at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia on Tuesday evening from 5-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Charles G. Clark Memorial Fund, c/o Fifth Third Bank, 825 W. Market St., Troy, OH 45373 or the Ohio Concerns of Police Survivors, P.O. Box 333, Marysville, OH 43040 in memory of Charles.
