KILLEAN, Charles B. Chuck , age 81, of Vandalia, passed away unexpectedly Monday, May 5, 2008 at his residence. He was born April 10, 1927 in Omaha, Nebraska, son of the late John B. & Mary (Darmire) Killean. Charles was a US Marine Veteran of WWII, an active member of the F.O.P in Dayton, was a volunteer at the Dayton VA, and was a retired Sergeant with the City of Dayton Police Department. Chuck is survived by his 2 sisters, Julia R. Windham of Dayton and Helen McCormick of Centerville; nephews, Jon Windham, Doug Windham (Jean) & family and Mike Windham (Donna) & family; nieces, Becky Neal (Kevin) & family & Cindy Windham; his close cousin, Betty Bennett & his dear friend, Loretta. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm, Thursday, May 8, at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Pastor Josh Grimes officiating. Burial to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 pm until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Chucks memory.
