Charles R. Waymire

Age 80, of Butler Twp., passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018, at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born May 1, 1938 in Englewood, Ohio. Charles was preceded in death by his father, Armand Charles Waymire; his mother, Blanche Waymire Seals; and by a brother, Richard Waymire.

Charles earned his Master of Social Work degree from The Ohio State University and worked for 53 years as a marriage & family counsellor. He attended the Vandalia Grace Brethren Church and for 15 years he and Elizabeth enjoyed leading the music for the Classics Adult Group at First Light Church, Vandalia.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of the past 57 years, Elizabeth (Wright) Waymire; three children, John C. Waymire, Cathryn Waymire Gibbs & Sara E. Waymire ; two grandchildren, Makayla & Tyus Gibbs; brother, William Waymire (Betty); life-long best friend, Paul Herr & his wife, Leola; special friends, Rev. John & Ruth Pawelski; and by his extended family, including Elizabeth's family in North Carolina & many good friends.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 24, at First Light Church, 140 Elva Ct., Vandalia. Rev. John Pawelski and Mr. John Seagraves will officiate. Interment will be in Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Charles to either the Gospel Mission, 64 Burns Ave., Dayton, OH 45402 or to the Creation Museum, 2800 Bullittsburg Church Rd., Petersburg, KY 41080.
