Christine Daugneaux

DAUGNEAUX, G. Christine, age 85 of Butler Twp., passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Hearth & Home of Vandalia after a lengthy illness. She was born September 18, 1923 in Clarksburg, West Virginia, daughter of the late Waldo & Jessie (Hurst) Bray. Christine was a retired schoolteacher with the Trotwood City Schools and was a wonderful writer. Preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Richard in 1996, Christine is survived by her 3 daughters, Barbara & husband, Joe Modderno of Crofton, MD, Joan Daugneaux & friend, Steve Mallory of McComb, OH, and Kathy & husband, Frank Allen of Vandalia; 2 grandchildren, Ben Allen & Matt Modderno; 1 sister, Betty McWilliams Haines of West VA; special nieces, Karen Corbin & Shari Walker; former son-in-law, Mark Seitz of Trotwood; her very special friend, Virginia Torre; and numerous other relatives and friends in West Virginia. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm, Monday, February 16, 2009 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Mr. Michael Royce officiating. Burial to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association or to Acclaim Hospice in Christines memory. The family would like to offer special thanks to the staff at Hearth & Home as well as Acclaim Hospice for the loving care provided to Christine. Also, we offer a heartfelt thank you to our special angel Grant Thomas Eddy.
