Christopher J. Howard

Age 57, of Dayton, passed away at his home on Friday, June 30, 2017. He was born August 15, 1959 in Dayton to Robert Jay & Juanita Irene (Nash) Howard.

He was preceded in death by his father and by a nephew, Trevor Blaire Holt.

Christopher was employed as a heavy machine operator with Jergen’s Construction and he was an avid Harley-Davidson rider and fan.

He is survived by his mother; his best friend and fiancé, Lori Hayes; daughter, Amber Howard; four siblings, Robert J. Howard (Sheila), Kelly J. Howard (Jennifer), Joy Lynn Merriman (Dominic) & Jennifer Howard (Marty Bausch); and by his beloved dog & loyal companion, Scooter.

The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday (7/5) at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday (7/6) at the funeral home with Chaplain Randy Reed officiating. Interment will follow at Polk Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made in memory of Christopher to the American Cancer Association.
