Clarence E. Cornett

CORNETT, Clarence E., age 89 of Friendship Village, formerly of Vandalia, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2016. He was born November 23, 1926 in Zanesville, OH, son of the late Harry & Rosa (Crock) Cornett. Clarence was a U.S. Army Veteran and then retired in 1988 from Prudential Insurance Company after 27 years. Preceded in death by 1 son, Dale Cornett; 2 brothers, Norman & Paul Cornett and 1 sister, Mary Agnes Scott, Clarence is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Harriet (Shellhammer) Cornett; 1 son, Gary (Dawn) Cornett of Germantown; 3 brothers, Delbert (Miriam) Cornett, Ed (Judy) Cornett & Carl (Linda) Cornett; daughter-in-law, Pam Cornett; sisters-in-law, Ann & Mary Cornett; 5 grandchildren, Eric (Nicole) Cornett, Alicia (Tyler) Long, Matthew, Dylan and Paige Cornett; 2 great-grandchildren, Zeke Long & Claire Cornett, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorial Prayer Service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 21 at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 435 E. National Rd., Vandalia with Fr. Francis Keferl officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday morning from 10:00 am until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Miami Valley Chapter, 31 Whipp Rd, Dayton, OH 45459 in memory of Clarence.
