COLSON, Clifford S. Jr., age 76 of Vandalia, passed away Sunday June 21, 2009 at Hospice of Dayton following an illness. He was born November 18, 1932 in Dayton, son of the late Clifford S. Colson Sr.. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Cold War; was a 1950 graduate of Miamisburg High School and was a graduate of the University of Dayton. He was a retired Customer Service Manager from the James River Company and was a former member of the Vandalia Lions Club. Clifford is survived by his wife of 49 years Ida; his mother Martha Colson; his children Clifford S. Colson III (Cindy), Scott A. Colson (Terry), Bruce Adams (Joy), Bryan Adams (Lara), and Kelli Holdeman (Kelly); one brother Calvin Colson; one sister Martha Williams; 11 grandchildren Ciera, Caleb, Rebecca, Alicia, Amanda, Jacob, Tyler, Corey, Abigail, Nathan, and Jason; 4 great-grandchildren Aaron, Anthony, Jaxon, Elijah; 3 nephews Jeff and Chris Colson and Dr. Mark Williams, and one niece Tracey Binford. It was Mr. Colsons wish that his body be cremated and a Memorial Service for family and friends will be held Saturday July 11 at 4:00pm at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 2:00pm until time of the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Mr Colsons memory.
