HEWITT, Clifford K. age 87 of Dayton, passed away Saturday September 6, 2014 at Hospice of Dayton. Clifford was born August 13, 1927 in Dayton, son of the late Charles & Clara Viola (Bettker) Hewitt. Mr. Hewitt was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was the owner of Hewitt Plumbing for over 42 years and was the former owner of the Cliffhanger, Courtyard Lounge, and Matchmaker Lounge. Clifford was preceded in death by one brother Richard Jerome Hewitt. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Carrol (Warren) Hewitt; 5 daughters Debbie del Valle of Delray Beach, FL, Pamela & husband William Surber of Greely, CO, Sharon & husband Andy Bliss of Dayton, Tracy Howard of N. Port, FL, Marlena & husband Jeff Pence of Dayton; one sister Phyllis & husband Richard Loges; grandchildren Brandy Hewitt of Indianapolis, IN, Joshua Pence of Dayton, TaLee Howard and Hunter Howard both of N. Port, FL and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday September 10 at 1:00pm at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5-8pm. If so desired, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Clifford's memory.
