Cora Mae Johnson

JOHNSON (Evans), Cora Mae, age 94, of Huber Heights, died Friday, November 16, 2012. Mrs. Johnson was born September 7, 1918 in London, KY. She is preceded in death by her husband, William H. Johnson; son-in-law, Carl L. Richter; step-daughters Carol J. Carico and Karen L. Howard. Mrs. Johnson graduated in 1934 from Pitsburg High School in Kentucky and later moved to Dayton where she worked at Wright Patterson AFB during WWII. She retired from Fairborn City Schools in 1972. She was a member of Sulphur Grove United Methodist Church in Huber Heights. Cora is survived by daughters Billie S. (Johnson) Richter; Mary Lynn Johnson; daughter and son-in-law Ronelle (Johnson) & Al Hill; son & daughter-in-law James S. & Aggie E. Johnson; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at Morton Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 N. Dixie Drive, Vandalia on Monday, November 19. Visitation is 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with funeral services at 1:30 p.m. Interment at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, 11900 N. Dixie Dr., Tipp City, OH. If desired, remembrances may be made in her honor to Hospice of Dayton or Sulphur Grove UMC, 7505 Taylorsville Rd., Huber Heights, OH 45424.
