ROYCE, Curtis age 89, a resident of Butler Township since 1966 and for twenty years, Curtis and his wife Iona were “Snowbirds” living the winter months in Vero Beach, FL, where Curtis was known as “The Mayor of Oakmont Park!”
Curtis passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2018. He was born in Whitesburg, KY, Letcher County, to the late Russell & Gladys Royce. Curtis was preceded in passing by his wife, Iona M. Royce, dogs, Duke, Tinker, Becky, and Flippy; his brothers, Bennie Royce, Billy Ray, Paul Clay & Homer Royce; sisters, Ruby Sizemore & Shirley Daugherty. Curtis is survived by son, Michael Royce (Ellie); and daughters, Arlene Royce and Gail Rowland (Richard); six grandchildren, Bryan Royce, Cary Royce (Angie), Tommy Royce, Nichol Czarnecki (Michael), Jeremy Rowland (Shaina), Raymond Rowland (Shelby) and eleven great-grandchildren, Gavin, Stella, Kaya, Ethan, Lance, William, Nathan, Olivia, Kira, Anna, and Liam; his sister, Ludena Beehler; nieces, nephews, dear friends, Jim & Sherri & Kyle Landers, Richard & Faye Wornstaff, fellow realtors, Michelle Brunk Boyer, and the Texas Holdem Gang from the VFW on North Dixie Drive in Northridge, especially his buddies, Karen & Connie.
Curtis worked hard his entire life, including many years at RTA and as CEO of Royce Realty with his son, Michael, wife Iona and daughter, Arlene. He loved each associate that worked at Royce Realty.
The family will receive friends at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia on Sunday, 9/23 from 2-4 pm. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, 9/24 at the Christian Life Center, 3489 Little York Rd, Dayton, OH 45414 with Curtis’s grandson, Tommy Royce leading the service. Please enter the Christian Life Center through Door #3 upon arrival. Interment will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
