Dale E. Cornett

CORNETT, Dale E., age 59 of Butler Twp., passed away unexpectedly Monday, January 4, 2016. He was born June 26, 1956 in Dayton, Ohio, son of Clarence & Harriett (Shellhammer) Cornett. Dale was employed as a dialysis nurse with Good Samaritan Hospital and was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church. He loved spending time with his family, enjoyed fine wines, ballroom dancing with his wife, and traveling, especially on beach vacations. He was an avid fitness enthusiast and was especially proud of his black belt in martial arts.

Dale is survived by his wife of 25 years, Pam (Shiflet) Cornett; his children, Paige and Dylan Cornett; his parents, Clarence & Harriet Cornett; his brother, Gary Cornett (Dawn), along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and good friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 am, Friday, January 8, at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 435 E. National Rd., Vandalia with Fr. Francis Keferl officiating. Cremation to follow. The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm, Thursday evening at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia and also from 10:30 am until time of Mass on Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the UVMC Foundation, c/o Cancer Care Center, 3130 N. County Rd. 25A, Troy, Ohio 45371 in Dale's memory.
