Dale Curtner

CURTNER, Dale E. age 79 of Vandalia passed away Monday February 1, 2010 at his residence following an illness. He was a retired employee from the Dayton Daily News, Journal Herald and Shopping News with 41 years of service. Dale was a member of Vandalia Lodge # 742 F&AM serving as Master 3 times. He was a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, York Rite, the Antioch Shrine and was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was preceded in death by his mother Audrey Curtner Seward and a granddaughter Heidi Lambert Gayheart. Dale is survived by his wife of 57 years Betty (Hawn) Curtner; 3 daughters Audrey Hochwalt, Donna Thomas, and Belinda Forbeck; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Graveside services for family and friends will be held Thursday February 4 at 2:00pm at Forest Hills Cemetery with Fr. Robert Monnin officiating. The family will receive friends at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia on Wednesday evening from 5 to 7pm. Masonic Memorial Services will be held at 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shriners Childrens Hospital in Dales memory.
