Dale Lee Fisher, age 65, of Clayton, Ohio, passed peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 with his lifelong partner, Stan Howard, by his side. Dale was born on April 2, 1957 in Port Gibson, Mississippi to the late Lucien D. Fisher and Marva (Coprich) Fisher. He was a graduate of Xenia High School (Class of 1975). After attending Central State University for a short while, Dale joined the Army National Guard in 1976 and served for several years. In the early 80's, he graduated from Carousel Beauty College and was a member of the "D'ehn Design Team." He began his cosmetology career and showed off his talent at Glemby (Shillito's) Accent (Salem Mall), A Hair Galleria and In Fashion in Huber Heights. After choosing to change paths in the late 90's, he went on to work a variety of jobs, including, Spring Hill Nursery, Hara Arena and Furst Florist. Dale was a "Foodie" at heart. He loved the Food Network and spent hours enjoying watching all the chefs on TV. He gained so much knowledge from them, and it showed in all the delicious food he prepared over the years, especially his beef and noodles and his holiday meals. Dale's biggest passion was his love for flowers. He and Stan shared so many wonderful years planting and building their flower gardens together. It was a true labor of love. Dale and Stan often laughed about the statement from so many, many people over the years they met ---"Not the house on Main St. across from Meijer with all the flowers." Their yard and their gardens was truly their trademark and the respect and admiration from so many brought Dale so much joy.
Dale leaves to cherish his soft spoken and gentle soul, his life partner of over 42 years, Stan Howard. His mother, Marva Fisher, brother, Michael Fisher and sisters, Gloria "Didi" (Shawn) Lennon and Rhonda Gray, as well as his aunts, Kay Fisher, Gail (Duke) Ellington, Darlene (Don) Atchison and uncle Irvin Fisher, and a host of loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and sister Gerri Levell and his 3 pet companions, Puddles, Pepper and Cricket who he absolutely adored. Arrangements entrusted to Morton Whetstone Funeral Home, Vandalia. Condolences may shared at www.mortonwhetstonefh.com.
A celebration of Dale's life will be held at a future date. The family would like to send love and appreciation to the team of nurses and doctors at MVH (downtown) and Ohio Hospice of Dayton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ohio Hospice of Dayton, The Greater Dayton LGBT Center, or The Greater Dayton Humane Society. "Fly high, fly high dearest Dale, this glass of Cabernet is for You."
