GRIMES, Dale F., Jr, age 80, died peacefully at Randall Residence, Tipp City, Ohio on November 27, 2022.  He was born November 12, 1942 in Celina, Ohio, son of the late Dale F. Sr. & Evelyn (Harmeyer) Grimes.   Dale is survived by his wife, Patricia (Hinze) Turner Grimes, son, Brett Grimes (Patty), step-daughter, Paige (Adams) Pressel Rivera (Adalberto), and several brothers and sisters.

Dale was a graduate of New Knoxville High School, served four years active duty in the U.S. Air Force and graduated from the Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma.   Following a long, successful career, Dale retired in 2005 from the City of Xenia as the Executive Director of the Xenia Economic Growth Corporation.  Prior to his time in Xenia, Dale served as the Industrial/Commercial Development Manager for the City of St. Mary’s, Ohio.  During his tenure in St. Mary’s, he was a charter member of St. Mary’s Sister Cities and was an honorary citizen of Hokudancho, Japan.  Dale was the State Vice-President of the Jaycees and Ambassador of Industrial Development for the State of Ohio.  Dale and his father, Dale F. Grimes, Sr., were instrumental in building the original Belle of St. Mary’s.

Dale was a member of Rotary International, served as Past President of the Ohio Development Association, and proudly served several other county and state development councils and associations.  He was a member of the Miami Valley Military Affairs Association, serving in many capacities, including President, and was the recipient of their Winkler Award.

Dale had many hobbies including golf, gardening and woodworking.  He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
