Daniel Stoner

STONER, Daniel C. Jr., age 78, a lifelong resident of Butler Township, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2007 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born August 10, 1928 in Dayton, OH, son of the late Daniel & Ruth E. (Scherer) Stoner. Daniel was a retired employee of Meadow Gold Dairy and was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church. He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict where he served in the 24th Division of the 19th Infantry. Preceded in death by 1 daughter, Angela and 1 sister, Mary Marshall, Daniel is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary (Kennett) Stoner; 2 daughters, Josephine Borders of Vandalia and Kimberly Short & husband, Christopher of Englewood; 1 son, Daniel Stoner III & wife, Jill of Butler Twp; 1 sister, Nan Groves of Englewood; 6 grandchildren, Tony DAngelo, Elizabeth Borders, Jordan Short, Cassidy Short, Daniel Stoner IV, Shelby Hull & Kayla Hull; 1 great-grandson, Hunter Daniel DAngelo and numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, May 17, at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Pastor Alan Knoke officiating. Burial will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 am until time of service
