Danny L. Davis

DAVIS, Danny, age 65 of Vandalia, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2012 at his home following an 18 month battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in 1947 in Dayton, OH to the late George and Evelyn (Reed) Davis. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathleen (Schnelle) Davis and his sister, Sharon Reeder. Danny was cherished and will be deeply missed by his caregiver and devoted wife of 27 years, Eileen (Humbarger); son, Marc (Melanie) Davis; daughter, Elizabeth (Jr.) Morgan; step-daughters, Rebecca (David) Williams, Elizabeth Dankworth (fianc, Rex Smallwood), and Brooke Grossnickle; beloved grandchildren Isaac Davis, Katherine & Nykie Morgan, Renee Williams and Ashley & Joel Dankworth; sisters Debbie Miller and Renny Burcker; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Danny retired from GM after 33 years of service, was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a troop leader for Boy Scouts of America, an avid golfer and a member of the Masonic Lodge, Vandalia Chapter. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, October 22, at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Chaplain Randy Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Casstown Cemetery, Casstown, OH. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2-4 pm. Masonic Services will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations in Danny's name to Hospice of Dayton.
