Dara Jane Taylor

TAYLOR, Dara Jane, age 91 of Brookville, formerly of Butler Twp., passed away Friday, January 4, 2013 at the Brookhaven Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was born June 9, 1921 in Vandalia, OH daughter of the late Lorin & Lova (Klepinger) Karns. Dara was a 1939 graduate of Vandalia-Butler High School, a longtime member of the former Murlin Heights United Church of Christ and a member of the Vandalia Senior Center. Preceded in death by her husband, Dorance Taylor in 1996, and 1 brother, Carl Karns, Dara is survived by her children, Karlton & wife, Debbie Taylor of West Chester, OH, and Kay & Tim Bosse; grandchildren, Jessica, Rachel, Adam, Ben & Sarah; 1 sister, Jo Galloway of Vandalia; 1 sister-in-law, Thelma Karns of Butler Twp.; and numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, January 9, at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Pastor Hal Copley officiating. Burial will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until time of service.
