STEVENS, Darrin R., age 47 of Vandalia, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Darrin was born June 12, 1968 in Dayton, OH, to Pete & Sandy (Selover) Stevens. He was a 1987 Vandalia-Butler High School graduate and earned his Bachelor's Degree from Pensacola Christian College. Darrin spent his life serving others as a Police Officer in DeKalb County, GA and Butler Twp., OH, as well as working as a Firefighter/EMT with Butler Township. Darrin served the Lord faithfully through many years of ministry as a Youth Pastor at Vandalia Baptist Temple, Marshall Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, NC, and the Maranatha Baptist Church in Tallahassee, FL. Darrin touched the lives of all that knew him through his gift of song. He was an avid UK Fan, Pittsburgh Steelers fan and an Ohio State fan. Preceded in death by his father, Pete and his sister, Tina Louise, Darrin is survived by his wife, Nancy (Tye) Stevens, son, Nathan; his mother, Sandy Stevens; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Harrold & Sandra Tye; and brother-in-law, Alex Tye, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and very special friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, November 13 at the First Baptist Church, 140 Elva Court, Vandalia, OH with Darrin's close friend, Pastor Brian Beverley officiating. Interment will follow at Polk Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church on Thursday, November 12 from 5-8 pm.
