Darryl H. Kreitzer

KREITZER, Darryl H., age 77 of Vandalia, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Springfield Manor. He was born May 8, 1939 in Dayton, OH, son of the late Robert B. & Norma (Harrison) Kreitzer. Darryl retired from General Motors in 1992 where he served as a quality control engineer for 35 years, and he was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church for 33 years. Preceded in death by his parents, his step-father, Stanley Tecoma; one sister, Shirley Lightcap, Darryl is survived by his wife of 34 years, Karole A. (Kracirik); 2 sons, Steve Kreitzer (Audrey) and Scott Kreitzer; 2 daughters, Marilou Brown (Jonathan) and Melinda Hagen (Charles); 1 sister, Judith Kreitzer; 6 grandchildren, Aaron, Laura, Lindsey, Eric, Tate & Ella Rose, several great-grandchildren, and his nephew, Harvey Lightcap (Jodi) and niece, Debbie Burrill (David). Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, August 23 at St. Christopher Church, 435 E. National Rd., Vandalia with Fr. John Tonkin officiating. Interment will follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery in Vandalia. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5- 7 pm, at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia and also Tuesday morning at St. Christopher Church from 10:00 am until time of service.
