David James Aycock
Age 77, of Vandalia, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at the hospice unit of the Dayton VA Medical Center. He was born to Pete & Joyce Aycock on April 20, 1947 in Brewton, Alabama. David served our country with honor in the United States Army he was a decorated combat veteran as a result of his tour in Vietnam where he fought at the battle of Dak To (Hill 875). He was a graduate of Vandalia Butler High School Class of 1965. David was a member of First Light Church and VFW Post #9582, in Vandalia. He served as a sales manager for various car dealerships in the Miami Valley.
Preceded in death by parents, Pete & Joyce Aycock; his son, Nicholas D. Aycock and his brother, Glen Aycock.
Survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Juletta Joy Aycock (Everhart); daughter, Natalie (Chris) Barnett; son, Nathan (Savhanna) Aycock; brother, Brian (Anita) Aycock; his loving grandchildren Chloe Noel Barnett, Cailey Joy Barnett, A.J. Barnett; Carson Nicholas Aycock, Carter James Aycock; devoted friend, Raymond Bertschsy; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives & many friends.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, at the First Light Church, 140 Elva Court, Vandalia, with the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Pastor David Starry, officiating. The burial will follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations can be made in David’s memory, to the Dayton VA Fisher House http://donate.fisherhouse.org/Dayton
