DUNCAN, David L., age 78 of Butler Twp., passed away Saturday, February 14, 2009 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born January 2, 1931 in Dayton, OH son of the late, Edgar Lee & Helen (Rosenthal) Duncan. David was a 1949 graduate of Parker Vocational School and served in the U.S. Naval Reserves from 1949-1956. He was a retired toolmaker from H & H Machine Tool with 33 years of service. He was also employed at Larchtree Golf Course in Trotwood. David is survived by his wife of 58 years, Helen (Buckley) Duncan; his 4 children, David Lee Jr. & wife, Joann Duncan of Bellingham, MA, Diana & husband, Jon Young of Farmington Hills, MI, Lizz & husband, Lee Kunz of Butler Twp; and Elaine & husband, Rodney Helman of Butler Twp.; grandchildren, Lauren, David Lee III, Jonathan, Chelsea, Alyson, Anna, Rodney, & Nicholas; 3 brothers, Gerald Duncan & wife, Velma, Donald Duncan & wife, Betty, & Robert Duncan & wife, Phyllis; and numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Wednesday, February 18 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Jon Young officiating. Burial to follow at Polk Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association or Hospice of Dayton in Davids memory.
