David R. Evans

David R. Evans Age 93, of Dayton, passed away Monday, August 31, 2015, at Brookhaven Nursing Center. David was born April 20, 1922 in California, PA to Clyde & Susie Evans. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one infant daughter. During WW II David served in the U. S. Army Air Corps and he went on to retire from General Motors in 1974 with over 30 years of service. He is survived by his beloved wife of the past 72 years, Virginia M. (Ullmer) Evans; daughter, Carol (Evans) Hunsbarger; two sisters, Edna Shiflet and Ruth Falter (Richard); and by his extended family & many good friends. The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m., Thursday (9/3) at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Tipp City. .
