David C. Haynes

Age 68, of Tipp City, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 20, 2015. David was born September 9, 1947 in Middlesboro, KY.

A graduate of Wayne High School, class of 1966, he retired from Hobart Corp. in Troy with 23 years of service and for the past 12 years he has driven a bus for the Miami County MRDD. David was an avid motorcyclist and he enjoyed riding with “The Broken Chains Motorcycle Group” which was associated with Ginghamsburg Church. He recently earned his pilot’s license for small aircraft and enjoyed boating, life in general and being outside.

David is survived by his mother, Oneita Flaugher; sister, Ava Blair; fiancé, Ronalie “Roni” Downing; four daughters, Holly Banner (John), Crystal Horstman (Matt), Benita Haynes & Kathy Sanger (David); 12 grandchildren; and by his extended family and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his father, David K. Haynes; and by his step-father, Harold Flaugher.

The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday (11/24) at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.
