David Leslie Rodgers

Age 81, of Butler Twp., passed away Sunday, October 27, 2024, at his home. David was born May 5, 1943 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Bernard Leslie & Dorothy Elizabeth (Carrington) Rodgers. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia Atkins & Carole Cottle.

David was a dedicated member of the Christian Life Center; a veteran of the United States Air Force; owner of Rodger’s Realty Company; and formerly employed by Dayton Tire & Rubber. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeye’s fan and loved to fish and spend time with his family who will remember him as a prankster.

David is survived by his loving wife of the past 50 years, Bonnie (Houdeshell) Rodgers; two children, Stacy Schoenlein & her husband, Rob and Brian Rodgers & his wife, Devon; five grandchildren, Madison, Allison, Molly, Kara & Zoe; three great grandchildren, Grayson, Collins & Amelia, with another on the way; one sister, Connie Defler & her husband, Steve; and by his extended family & many good friends.

The family will be receiving friends from 3:00 – 5:00 pm, on Friday (Nov. 1) at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Funeral services will begin at 5:00 pm at the funeral home with Bill Howell officiating.
